Bridge the Gap is a Special Education academic fund that was created to help meet the needs of students accessing special education services. This money will go directly to applicants across the district as needs arise to help solve challenges that create barriers to learning and participation.

Criteria:
Applications exceeding $100 per student and $300 per classroom may be considered and awarded if criteria are met and sufficient funds are available. TSNPTA reserves the right to offer partial or full support.

Process:
- Teachers, therapists, paraeducators, parents, caregivers, or students can submit a Bridge the Gap Application Form found below.
- A committee will review the requests as they are received.
- After committee review has been completed the requestor will be notified of the decision. This will occur within 14 days of the request.
Criteria:
- This fund must benefit students with disabilities in Tacoma.
- If approved for the fund assistance, requestor must provide documentation of use within three months of receipt.
- This fund will directly support student academic enrichment in and/or out of the classroom.
- At this time Bridge the Gap will focus entirely on meeting the needs of Tacoma students with disabilities in at home learning to meet emerging needs related to COVID-19.
